As a House of Our God, we are called to be a people with whom God dwells. This means we exist to be a Christ-centred church - faithfully following Jesus as His disciples, because He first loved us.
As a Home for the Community, we are also called to be a family for the community in which God has planted us. We seek to share His love with all whom He leads us to, with a special heart for the Geylang Methodist School (GMS) community.
Christalite Methodist Chapel: A Journey of God's faithfulness
Our story began when a pioneering group from Christ Methodist Church responded to God’s call to establish a preaching point within the Geylang Methodist Schools. This vision took shape with our first worship service on 1st September 1996. In 1998, the preaching point was named Christalite Methodist Chapel—the name by which we are known today. By God's grace, what began as a small gathering of passionate believers grew steadily, reaching 150 founding members by 31st July 2005. On that day, we were formally established as the 19th Local Conference of the Trinity Annual Conference of The Methodist Church in Singapore.
In 2025, we joyfully celebrate our 20th anniversary as a Local Conference—an occasion to give thanks for God’s steadfast love and enduring faithfulness. As we reflect on our beginnings and calling, we reaffirm our commitment to be obedient to His purpose: to shine the light of Christ where He has planted us. We continue to be a House of Our God and Home for the Community—a Christ-centred church for all, and especially for the Geylang Methodist School community.
